Q: When does the race start?
A: Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at 8:00AM sharp. Runners should arrive NO LATER THAN 7:15AM (or earlier, if possible).  The start and finish of the 15K and the 5K are at the same location.

Q: When does race day registration start?
A: Runners may register at 6:30AM on the day of the race near the starting line.  Day-of-Race registration ends at 7:45AM.

Q: How can I register?
A: Runners may register online here.  Online registration must be completed on or before Tuesday, September 28th, 2010. 

If an effort to be more environmentally friendly we have elected not to print paper registration forms.

Pre-Registration before September 18th is $25.00
Registration after September 18th is $30.00
Day-of-Race Registration is $30
Those that choose to register on the Day-of-Race are not guaranteed a shirt.  Please register early!

Q: What Distances are the Lake Spivey Road Race Courses?
A: 15K (9.3 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles)

Q: Who is eligible to run?
A: All runners who have trained for a 15K road race or 5K run/walk are eligible to enter.  For safety, no wheeled vehicles or wheeled means of conveyance (i.e., bicycles, skates, etc.) are permitted in the race.  15K runners should be prepared to finish the race in 2 hours.

Q: Is the race a Peachtree Road Race qualifier?
A: Yes - The requirement for a race to be a waved start qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race 10K is that the course is certified.  The Lake Spivey Road Race 15K and 5K are both USATF certified courses and therefore meet this requirement.

Q: What is the parking situation?
A: Vehicles enter Clayton County International Park from Hwy 138 via the north entrance.  Parking is available at the rear of the park for 691 vehicles.  The race start and finish are via the south gate which is off limits to vehicle traffic. Runners are encouraged to carpool.

Q: What "goodies" does Lake Spivey Road Race Provide?
A: All participants will receive a t-shirt at packet pick-up of the size indicated on your application.  For each race, awards will be given to the overall male and female race finishers.  Awards will also be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group (excluding the overall winners).

Q: What are the age groups?
A: 15K and 5K, Men and Women: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and Over

Q: How do I get my race packet?
A: Packets will be provided on the day of the race.  Each packet will contain a bib number, t-shirt and other fun stuff.

Q: Will you mail me my t-shirt if I don't attend the race?
A: No - However, if you have pre-registered and attend the race but for some reason we run out of t-shirts we will be happy to mail your t-shirt to you free of charge.  Please advise a volunteer of the situation and ensure that we have the proper information regarding your name, address and shirt size.

Q: Where are the restrooms?
A: The park has several real restrooms located at the pavillion near the race start/finish.  There is also a large restroom and dressing facilities at the park's gym facility. All are very close to parking and the race setup area. Men's and women's portable toilets will also be available along the 15K course just after the 2 mile point.  Map of The Beach

Q: Where are the water stations?
A: Water and Gatorade will be available at the park and at several water stations along the 15K course.  There will be one (1) water station on the 5K Run/Walk course.

Q: How will weather affect the race?
A: The race will go on as planned unless conditions are deemed hazardous to runners and/or volunteers.

Q: Can I switch races?
A: If your entry has already been processed, then it is not permitted to change races. Runners wishing to change from the 15K to the 5K (or vice versa) after their entries have been processed may be disquaified.

What if I want to drop out?
A: The 15K course closes at 10:00AM.  Volunteers will assist runners who want to drop out.

    Directions 
  • Atlanta: Go south on I-75 about 17 miles to Exit 228, Hwy. 138. Exit right onto Hwy. 138 west toward Jonesboro. Go 2.5 miles. Turn left into Clayton County International Park. Go straight to the parking area at the rear of the park. map
  • Macon: Go north on I-75 about 63 miles to Exit 228, Hwy. 138. Turn left onto Hwy. 138 west toward Jonesboro. Go 2.5 miles. Turn left into Clayton County International Park. Go straight to the parking area at the rear of the park. map
  • Peachtree City: Go east on GA-54 about 17 miles. Turn left onto Tara Blvd. (19/41). Turn right onto Fayetteville Road. Turn right onto W. Mill Street. Turn left onto N. McDonough Street. Turn right onto Stockbridge Road. Stockbridge Road becomes Hwy. 138. Turn right into Clayton County International Park. Go straight to the parking area at the rear of the park. map
